Apprentices start at roughly $26 an hour. By the time they complete their training, journeyman electricians earn about $59.50 an hour—more than $120,000 a year—plus benefits that often include health insurance and a pension. Add in overtime hours, or being a foreman, and electricians can make closer to $200,000 a year.
